Tel Aviv-based startup Pulse Play is the first completely integrated social ranking and scorekeeping wearable of its kind. I’ve been following the development of this company for over one year, and today they are launching their Indiegogo campaign aimed to take the concept from operational prototype to a market ready product.

Pulse Play settles a long-standing problem among recreational racket sports players: how to keep accurate and reliable scorekeeping. The stylish device, along with its online companion platform, performs three main functions:

  • Provides scorekeeping and live score announcements that allow for uninterrupted game play;
  • Records game history and assigns the wearer a global ranking once a match is complete;
  • As a worldwide social network, Pulse Play is able to connect players with new opponents in their area who play at the same level.

Over the next 30 days, all supporters of the campaign will have a choice of how to be recognized via a tailored tiered prize list aimed at racket sports enthusiasts and “techies” alike. The team has a goal of raising , 000, with perks ranging from for an early bird unit to top rewards that include packaged offerings of Pulse Play units and a chance to battle it out on the court with the company’s CEO and three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Ram, as well as VIP passes to the upcoming U.S. Open and French Open events: for a measly $20, 000.

“The prospect of being able to bring professional scorekeeping and wearable technology to center courts across the world has our team eager to get the mass production process underway, ” Ram shared with Geektime. “With just an easy click between points, players can have an accurate record of their progress at their fingertips. However, in order to bring this device to life and get it ready for market consumption, we’ll need the help of racket sport players at any level. With their commitment, we’ll be able to bring their games to the next level through technological innovation.”
