2013 Olympic Tennis
The EYOF 2013 tennis championships will be held at tennis club Domstad in sports park Den Hommel. For both the boys and the girls there will be a singles and a doubles tournament. The young participants will be hoping that one day they too can stand on the court of a grand slam like former EYOF tennis player Justine Hennin.

Participants are born in 1998 or 1999
There are four different tennis competitions: singles for boys, singles for girls and doubles for both boys and girls. In Utrecht we will us the courts of sports park Domstad near Den Hommel. These courts all have smashcourt surfaces, which has similar properties to gravel.
Tennis players need excellent hand-eye coordination and feet work are important. Because you can play the sport both individually and in doubles, you need have a strong personality to play alone and adapt to your doubles partner. At the EYOF the matches will be played with a ‘best of three sets’ system.
Besides the Olympic tournaments, the sport’s most important competitions are the four main events, called Grand Slams. These are the Australian Open, the French Roland Garros, Wimbledon in London and the US Open in New York. Of course, the courts of these events is where the young tennis players at the EYOF 2013 in Utrecht will dream of standing in the future.
