When you mention the name Monte Carlo, it immediately evokes images of casinos, cocktails, high rollers and maybe even Formula One but the chances are that it doesn’t make many people think about tennis. The Outright Market
There has been a tennis tournament held in the principality of Monaco since as far back as 1897, and as such there is no surprise that the modern day incarnation has achieved Masters 1000 Series status and that the event attracts all of the biggest names in men’s tennis. With that in mind, the 2015 edition of the Monte Carlo Masters is likely to deliver some top-class action but when it comes to tennis betting advice, the outright market for the event is a very difficult one to call.
Between the years of 2005 and 2012 the Monte Carlo event was absolutely dominated by Rafael Nadal, with the superstar Spaniard winning each and every edition of the tournament in that time. That record plus his undoubted pedigree on clay, makes Nadal a tempting prospect for the 2015 title but given his recent struggles with injury and form, the odds available for Rafa don’t look all too generous.
Instead of putting your money behind Nadal then, some savvy tennis betting advice may well be to back another Spaniard. David Ferrer unquestionably plays his best tennis on clay and in the early part of 2015, has shown the same kind of form which saw Ferrer challenging for all of the major honours just a couple of years ago. Add to that the fact that Ferrer has reached the final in Monte Carlo in the past, and the relative outside according to the betting markets looks a very decent shout for the title.
