WTA Tennis Indian Wells 2015
MONTE CARLO, Monaco - Petra Kvitova has unfortunately had to withdraw from the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, the first Premier Mandatory-level tournament of the year, due to exhaustion.
"I am extremely disappointed to have to withdraw from the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, one of my favourite tournaments on the calendar, " Kvitova wrote on her website. "Unfortunately I have been feeling exhausted on the court in recent weeks and unable to compete at 100 percent. I will therefore be taking some time out in order to rest and restore my energy levels for the rest of the season."
The two-time Wimbledon champion and World No.4 did vow to return: "The fans in Indian Wells are fantastic and I am really looking forward to being back there to play in front of them next year."
Kvitova has played the BNP Paribas Open each of the last six years, her best result being reaching the quarterfinals in in 2013 (where she fell to Maria Kirilenko in a hard-fought three-setter).
